First of all everyone starts off talking about politics by saying something cheesy about how their momma told them that they should never talk about politics. Here is what i say If you cannot handle talking to someone that has a different opinion than you about politics, then don't talk about politics. But if you are a being that walks upright and can think for themselves then you probably won't agree wholly with anyone on the subject of politics, (or religion... the other momma always said not to topic) So Learn to listen to others, learn to agree with parts but not all of what they say. Take what you have in common and build on that. Let the stuff that you don't necessarily agree on be your own individuality coming out. if everyone agreed with everything you believed in we wouldn't have an election or diversity or even a government, and the Country would still be facing the problems we are up against today, and it might even be worse.
On to the presidential candidates. I am normally a devout republican, and i believe the fiscal policies of the GOP is where we need to be.. I am from Texas and it is a Red state. The way Texas runs its taxes and finances is based off of a republican theory of politics, Here is a quote i found...
i believe that is reason enough to like the fiscal plan of the GOP.. but in the 2008 election, i don't like the candidate. I think John McCain is way to full of himself and don't know that he would be the best candidate for our country at this time. I think McCain picked Gov. Palin as his running mate not because she was the absolute best candidate for the VP position, but because she is a female, and that would give him a fighting chance against a young black man that is able to relate to a generation like this one. I think McCain and all his hard work to pass the Bail Out plan really turned me off to voting for him.
I don't necessarily agree with everything Senator Obama has to say or believes in, but at this point in time i think he is the best candidate to run our country. Senator Obama understands this is not a generation of absolutes, and he knows there are more than 2 sides of every argument. I was curious about the man and picked up his book "The audacity of HOpe" it was quite a good read, and i believe it is a blueprint for the politics of my generation, where everything isn't about abortion or gay marraige. It is for the folks who know that that stuff is going to happen, and we cant stop it, and if we try to stop it how then will we be able to bring them to Jesus. It is for the Christians who Embrace the fact that people make their own decisions on Sexuality, marraige, and whether or not they want to keep or abort thier baby. But can reach over to them and love them anyway even if that isnt what i believe. telling someone they are wrong doesn't bring them to Jesus, First you love, then you Lead to the Truth....
i got a little of track but in a way i didn't, because Gay Marriage and Partial birth abortion are the reasons everyon is telling me not to vote for OBAMA, But i think those are things we cannot control, If they aren't legalized with obama then they will be legalized with the next one. Our Country is in termoil right now, and we need some one who is New and fresh and completely different... im not telling you to vote the way i vote i am just projecting my thoughts on a blank screen and why i am doing what i am doing... you may not agree with me, but that is fine... Jesus loves us both

“Ranking states by domestic migration, per-capita income growth and employment growth, ALEC found that from 1996 to 2006, Texas, Florida, and Arizona were the three most successful states. Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan were the three least successful….The rewards for success were huge. Texas gained 1.7 million net new jobs, Florida gained 1.4 million and Arizona gained 600,000. While the U.S. average job growth percentage was 9.9%, Texas, Florida, and Arizona had a job growth of 18.5%, 21.4% and 28.9% respectively.”

it totally makes me sad that there aren't strong candidates on either side. people make it such a big deal, too, like it is our moral obligation to vote two values: abortion and gay marriage.
more than that, isn't it our moral obligation to show people Christ so that they don't have the desire to do such things in the first place? if people who are hurting enough to take another's life, what makes a regulation capable enough to encourage people to live "moral" lives?
Jesus Christ is the solution, not Obama or McCain. God alone causes nations to rise and fall, and when we fall in love with Him, that Love spreads to others. :)
Thanks for your thoughts.
