Faith with Legs

Last week I took my first mission trip. We went to the most mortal area of the largest city in the world.
This is really the first opportunity I have had to go on a mission trip.
Which is pretty sad actually.
I don't think there was a better place for me to go.
28,000,000 people.
living
breathing
working
loving
Living the life they know.
I only saw a small section of this reality.
A small picture of the need and plight of the people of that beautiful city
The week was spent in the center of Mexico City, D.F. or District Federal.
This City is 7400 ft above sea level.
50 degrees at night, maybe 80, to 85 in the heat of the day.
all year around
Very different from the 110 degree sweltering sweaty heat of Texas.
No A/C because you don't really need it, and everything is built open for air to flow.
My first picture of the city was in the darkness.
Which describes the spiritual condition of the city perfectly
Dark.
Evil is present
The liberator is ignored
Religion is King
Their way is filled with the greed of the catholic church
The evil of the pagan Santa Muerte, the patron saint of death
less than 3% Live in true light
Driving through the darkness of Mexico City, you really don't get the full picture.
You see basic silhouettes, but the true picture is hidden, enveloped by the darkness
The lightlessness blinds from the truth
The truth that the Catholic church there, is only interested in your money
The truth that most of the people that are selling religion, are doing exactly that.
Selling, and not believing what they are selling
Because they have been blinded from the truth of Christ.
There are some who are open, and looking for something.
something real.
They are looking for the sunrise. They are wanting the light to reveal the truth.
There are others, Who like the Pharaoh of Exodus.
God has hardened their heart.
Or like in Genesis where it says
Jacob I have loved, But Esau I Hated.
This may be harsh, but Maybe God Hates.
Hates those who have duped others in to religion.
Who take money from people in the name of religion.
I was challenged a lot last week.
My theology, My faith, My boldness.
This is just the beginning of the story.
