As a Lost Fanatic, and someone who has been to Ecclesia Houston on several occasions, the thought of the two combining and Chris Seay writing a book called “The Gospel According to Lost” excited me. And I was not let down. Seay takes a deeper look at the television phenomenon called Lost. As you walk through the book you are painted a picture of it’s characters in a different light than you may have seen before. As Seay states in the book, it is the mystery of the show that keeps us watching, and the characters that we fall in love with. And behind each character, is a beautiful lesson for everyone to learn. The book looks at the characters as if they were one of the patron saints of the Church, and shows us what and how they would be that specific saint. Not to mention the cool artwork in the middle of all the cast members. The genius behind this book is it takes something that many people already talk about and discuss very deeply anyway, and brings the aspect of the spiritual into the picture. Seay encourages us to keep the conversations about this great show going with this book, and adds some personal thoughts into those already ongoing conversations. And while we watch and discuss, The gospel according to Lost encourages us to live it, to make changes, and grow from the experience.
